We were instructed to secure planning permission for a new farmstead and agricultural workers dwelling on a site of approximately 10 acres to the North of Market Drayton, Shropshire.
The land was less than 1km to the North of the town on a greenfield site with no existing buildings except for a few small timber stables and was permitted for equestrian use. There were a number of residential properties and the Shropshire Union Canal within 400m of the site. Ponds designed specifically to create newt habitat as mitigation for another development were less than 250m from the site. The access on to a busy road had poor visibility in both directions.
